It all begins with a conversation. I need to understand your target audience and goals before I begin designing. We consider a series of questions (a ‘design brief’) written to elicit your ideas even if they are not fully evident to yourself yet.
A Style Tile assembles fonts, colours, and design details to help us visualize without the fuss and extra cost of full mockups. The approved Style Tile combined with a full site map and wireframes outlines how the final site will look on desktop and mobile.
Once we have an agreed upon design I create the interactive version using HTML, CSS, jQuery, PHP, and any other script or tool we have decided will help. This is done locally on my own machine but I will keep you in the loop with frequent updates.
I will upload the site from my local server to the live server we have chosen. After testing for bugs we will reveal your brand new site to the world. Time to pop that champagne!
The type of site you have chosen—blog, e-commerce, brochure—will determine its maintenance needs. For example, regular content changes should have frequent backups and a CMS will require security updates. I will provide one hour of training as well as a personalized operation guide if you wish to take on the maintenance of your own site or I can customize a maintenance package to suit your needs.
I will create XML site maps and submit them to the major search engines, as well as set up analytic accounts with Google and Bing so you can track how your customers are interacting with your site.
